Distinguished Young Women of San Diego County is part of a national scholarship program that promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership and talent in young women.

Cash scholarships are awarded at the local level and millions in college-granted scholarships are available ($1 billion nationally). And local winners will advance to the state program in Bakersfield, California where they give away more than $35,000 in cash tuition scholarships.

REGISTRATION FOR THE CLASS OF 2020 HAS CLOSED and scholarships were awarded on March 23, 2019.
Register now for the Class of 2021:
• Participant and Parent Orientation Meeting (not mandatory) will be held on January 11, 2020. The meeting will be from 11:00 a.m. to Noon at the law office of Morrison and Foerster, 12531 High Bluff Drive, San Diego 92130.
• All Rehearsals will be held at the Scripps Ranch Recreation Center, 11454 Blue Cypress Drive, San Diego, CA 92131 and participants must attend at least 3 of the 6 Saturday rehearsals starting on January 18, 2020. Rehearsals are from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and late arrivals and early departures are allowable with advance notice. Attendance at all rehearsals is encouraged in order to participate in the Life Skills Workshops and get the most out of the program..
• Participant must be able to attend an Interview session on Saturday February 29 for 10 minutes, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. and the Dress Rehearsal and the Showcase on March 1, 2020, 8:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Guadalupe Center at Cathedral Catholic High School, 5555 Del Mar Heights Roads, San Diego, 92130.

The 5 participants selected as a Distinguished Young Woman of San Diego County will receive a $1,000 DYW scholarship and must be able to attend the California State Finals in Bakersfield, either the 3rd or 4th week in July 2020. Failure to attend will result in the loss of the DYW scholarship but the DYW title and medallion will be retained as well as any of the 7 additional $250 category award scholarships earned.
